During last two years India has changed. Lethal combination of stalling growth and persistent inflation has taken a toll on consumers. A telltale sign of a spending squeeze is a cut down in non-essential, discretionary expenditure. India fiscal deficit is still 4.8% of GDP in 2013-14. More pain coming for consumers in 2013 and after.
